International music project Kovaceski Music, led by the visionary Klime Kovaceski, has announced the release of their latest single, “Unconquered,” featuring the extraordinary violin virtuoso German Dmitriev. This track is part of the new album ORPHANS, a collection that delves into the raw and innate talents of artists while forging unique collaborations and partnerships. This release is especially exciting for enthusiasts of Dead Can Dance and neoclassical goth, as “Unconquered” is an epic, poetic composition that navigates between soaring heights and serene valleys. The song acts as a bridge between eras and embodies the serves as a cultural excavation through sound. It invokes the ancient past and revives it through its music, much like the oral traditions that preceded written history that served as memory etched in song.
“Unconquered” stands as a poignant tribute to resilience, cultural heritage, and spiritual endurance. With evocative lyrics, it paints a vivid tableau of an eternal fortress, enveloped in the serene yet powerful elements of nature. References to saints, icons, and the dynamic imagery of swans and fire create a narrative celebrating historical strength and intellectual legacy. The track underscores the triumph over past adversities and the unwavering faith that builds and sustains hope, capturing the essence of steadfastness and reverence in the face of adversity.
Unlike many contemporary tracks, “Unconquered” defies conventional musical norms. Rather than repeating motifs, the song continuously evolves, introducing new elements throughout its duration. The first third of the song carries a light, joyous ambiance, transitioning into a deeper, more introspective tone in the second third. This progression culminates in a mystical atmosphere, offering a rich, auditory experience.
The song “Unconquered” also features the vocal talents of Tihana Nicolic, a voiceover by Daniel Johnson, and male vocals by Ashish Ali. The song is mixed and mastered by the renowned Kilien, and the video was created by the talented Abdullah S., both long-time collaborators of Kovaceski.
The song is dedicated to the city of Ohrid, a historical gem in North Macedonia known for its ancient churches, picturesque lakeside views, and as a UNESCO World Heritage site with a rich cultural legacy dating back to classical antiquity.
